Why I've Been Dark
I've been gone for a hot second, but I promise there's a reason. And a future.
Good morning, my friends. In my holiday post, I said I’d be back in early January because of Christmas.
…That didn’t happen.
If you’ve been tracking CryptoCurious/Curiosity DAO, I’m very sorry for the depressing state of everything lately. I genuinely feel bad I haven’t provided a reason for my absence. Long story short: I’m a newly minted college student with very little time on my hands to spend writing and coding outside of my comp sci homework.
Also, as much as I hate to say this, there’s very little chance Curiosity DAO will end up launching in the near future.
But with all that said, I haven’t given up on this newsletter and the community I spent 4 months cultivating last year. I still love every single one of you and want to provide you with high-quality content that you enjoy reading and I enjoy writing.
That’s been difficult for me given the once-per-week cadence I assigned myself and the aforementioned college education I recently started. Computer science keeps you busy; who knew?
I digress. Lately I’ve been thinking a lot. And when I get thinking, I generally want to write. So here we go. I have a few things to say.
I don’t want to abandon CryptoCurious.
I really don’t. I love writing about things I’m curious about, and Web3 is a endlessly fascinating. But I don’t think it’s sustainable for this format. I’d likely end up a newsletter talking about digital collectibles (I’m not calling them NFTs anymore), a weekly Web3 news…letter… — I mean I’d only talk about the week’s crypto news — or I’d totally lose my entire audience.
It’s quite a predicament. I’ve been spending a lot of time figuring out what I want CryptoCurious to be when it grows up and I don’t think it’ll be what it is now. I want to ask you all to be patient (as if you haven’t already — y’all haven’t even questioned me disappearing 😅) as I figure this out. I don’t have an answer yet and I don’t know when I will. It’s up in the air, quite frankly.
If you have any suggestions, I’d love to hear them. I always love hearing from you and what you have to say. If you want to help out, please do! Reach out to me through Twitter or by just responding to this email.
It’s also possible this address doesn’t work to recieve emails, so if that’s the case, email me at my personal email: lwalters224@gmail.com!
Again, thank you all for being awesome. I’m definitely NOT abandoning this project or any of you. I’ve had too much fun building it up.
